Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable data products, pipelines, and analytical foundations that power business insights and AI-enabled decision‑making across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise batch and streaming data pipelines using modern patterns and tools.
• Develop robust orchestration workflows for data ingestion, transformation, quality checks and downstream consumption.
• Create well‑modelled, trusted datasets for reporting, visualisation, advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases.
• Partner with analytics and product teams to deliver high‑quality datasets, dashboards and semantic layers.
• Build feature‑ready pipelines for machine‑learning and generative AI applications and collaborate on model productionisation.
• Ensure data solutions are reliable, scalable, secure and production‑ready, driving automation and observability.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience delivering scalable data pipelines and analytics foundations.
• Advanced SQL skills and ability to design performant queries and data models.
• Proficiency in Python and PySpark for large‑scale data processing.
• Experience working with cloud data platforms, orchestration tools and distributed processing patterns.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical data solutions and prototypes.
