Senior Electrical Construction Project Manager - Data Center

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Senior Electrical Construction Project Manager to oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning and close-out phases of a hyperscale, state-of-the-art data center project for a global technology client, located in Fredericia, Denmark. The role focuses on electrical systems and engineering and is key to delivering the facility successfully.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical pre-construction activities, including constructability in design, procurement and contracts, project planning and budget planning.
• Lead and manage electrical construction, keeping the project on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Oversee electrical system installations, including substations, transformers, switchrooms, MV & LV, life safety and all associated electrical systems.
• Ensure electrical designs align with design intent and client expectations, and that building codes, regulations and safety protocols are followed.
• Assist the design team with constructability and localization, and play a key part in procuring contractors and vendors.
• Supervise electrical subcontractors, vendors and suppliers, and be full-time on site for inspections and supervision.
• Manage health and safety on site, and manage and report progress against schedule and budget, tracking costs and scope changes.
• Oversee commissioning and handover, ensuring test reports, as-built drawings and O&M manuals are accurate and handed over to the client.
• Act as the primary point of contact for electrical issues between client and construction team, advise the client and manage risks.
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices and work schedules, and conduct site safety audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; professional certifications such as PMP or LEED are a plus.
• At least 7 years of experience in electrical construction project management on construction sites, including data center projects.
• Proven experience managing large, complex electrical systems installations and commissioning.
• Experience with Owner's representation and working directly with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Expertise in data center electrical systems such as HV/MV/LV, substations, switchgear, controls, life safety and energy management systems.
• Proficiency in construction management software such as BIM360, Autodesk applications and Primavera P6.
• Project management skills including planning, scheduling and budgeting, and strong leadership and communication skills.
