Postdoc in electrocatalytic selective oxidation for sustainable synthesis

About the role

The Department of Chemistry invites a motivated researcher to join a two‑year postdoctoral fellowship focused on experimental electrocatalysis. The project investigates selective oxidation reactions for sustainable chemical synthesis, combining fundamental electrochemical studies with in‑situ spectroscopic techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electrocatalyst materials for selective oxidation.
• Synthesize and characterize catalysts using both in‑situ and ex‑situ methods.
• Perform electrochemical testing and quantify reaction products.
• Apply in‑situ FTIR, Raman spectroscopy and electrochemical mass spectrometry to probe reaction mechanisms.
• Analyze data and contribute to mechanistic understanding of model catalyst systems.

Required profile

• PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or a related field.
• Strong background in experimental electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, or inorganic synthesis.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across international research sites.
