PhD Scholarship in Individual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy for Dementia

About the role

The Department of Psychology at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a fully funded three‑year PhD scholarship within the DiCST project, which aims to develop an individual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) model for people with dementia and their family caregivers.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑design and evaluate an individual CST manual and implementation tools.
• Conduct a feasibility randomised controlled trial to assess clinical effects.
• Collaborate with dementia professionals, municipalities, people with dementia, caregivers, and international researchers.
• Participate in research networks, PhD courses, teaching activities and knowledge dissemination.
• Write and defend a PhD dissertation.

Required profile

• Master’s level qualification in a relevant field such as neuropsychology or clinical psychology.
• Strong interest in dementia research and psychosocial interventions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
