IT Project Management Expert (Contract Agent)

About the role

The European Environment Agency (EEA) is running an open competition to establish a reserve list of experts in IT project management within digital areas. The post is based in Copenhagen and falls under the Digital Department, which leads on technology, data and Earth observation services. Reporting to the Head of Unit 'Digital Transformation and Technology Services', the Expert will support the design, evolution and sustainability of digital reporting and data exchange platforms, with an initial focus on Reportnet 3 and the migration away from Reportnet 2.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of ICT and digital transformation projects, defining scope, milestones, risks, dependencies, resources and deliverables
• Coordinate internal teams, external contractors, business stakeholders and governance bodies, and support transition, handover and contractor change activities
• Manage supplier and contract follow-up, risk management and operational follow-up
• Prepare project documentation such as plans, status reports, risk registers, issue logs and decision logs
• Use recognised methods such as PM2, Agile, Scrum or Agile@EC and report progress to management and governance bodies
• Engage stakeholders, prepare briefings and presentations, and facilitate workshops and governance discussions

Required profile

• Completed university studies of at least three years, or equivalent professional training
• At least 1 year of relevant professional experience after the qualification
• Nationality of an EEA member country, full citizenship, no outstanding military service obligations, and knowledge of one EEA language at CEFR B.2 and another at B.2
• Character requirements and physical fitness for the duties

Required skills

• Degree in IT, computer science, information systems or engineering
• Experience managing complex ICT projects involving digital platforms, data, infrastructure or cloud transformation
• Experience coordinating technical and business stakeholders and managing suppliers and contractors
• Experience with PM2, Agile, Scrum or Agile@EC and producing project documentation
• Excellent English at CEFR C1
• Advantageous: experience with Reportnet, supplier transitions and procurement-related project work
