Global Medical Scientist

About the role

Ascendis Pharma is seeking a Global Medical Scientist to join its Global Medical Affairs team. Based at the headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, you will act as a subject‑matter expert in rare endocrinology, shaping medical strategy across the company’s portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and execution of global medical strategies, narratives and strategic imperatives.
• Generate and communicate medical insights on disease areas, treatment landscapes and competitive developments.
• Lead global medical education, congress activities, advisory boards and engagement with KOLs, patient groups and societies.
• Collaborate on evidence generation, including real‑world evidence, observational studies and Phase IV programs.
• Partner with local medical teams to ensure alignment and execution of global tactics.

Required profile

• Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech Medical Affairs.
• Strong experience interpreting and applying clinical data in a strategic context.
• Background in endocrinology, rare diseases or related therapeutic areas.
• Solid understanding of drug development, Medical Affairs processes and global compliance.
• Proven ability to build trusted partnerships in a complex global matrix organization.
