Communications Specialist for SMARTbiomed Centre

About the role

The Pioneer Centre for SMARTbiomed seeks a motivated and independent communicator to strengthen its scientific mission, partnerships, and international visibility. You will work closely with researchers, leadership, and partner institutions to deliver clear, engaging communication across internal and external audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated communication strategy aligned with the centre’s scientific goals and branding.
• Maintain and enhance the SMARTbiomed brand across all platforms, ensuring coherent messaging.
• Prepare communication plans for initiatives, scientific outputs, and events, balancing strategic objectives with detailed execution.
• Facilitate effective internal communication among partner institutions, drafting announcements, newsletters, and updates.
• Translate complex scientific content into accessible materials for diverse audiences, including project summaries, impact statements, and policy‑relevant findings.
• Coordinate communication around major publications, grant milestones, and conferences.
• Support promotion of workshops, seminars, symposia, and public‑facing events, creating promotional graphics, programmes, and speaker biographies.
• Document events through photography, videography, and post‑event reporting, fostering inclusive participant experiences.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in communication or a related field, preferably at Master’s level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Danish proficiency is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities to work across professional, disciplinary, and cultural differences.
• Service‑minded, approachable, and capable of building positive relationships within a diverse organization.
