About the role
The Department of Biology at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a two‑year fixed‑term Associate Professor position in Genetics and Physiology. The role focuses on uncovering how metabolic shifts during tissue repair are coordinated with feeding behaviour, using Drosophila melanogaster as a model.
Key responsibilities
- Design and lead independent research projects on tissue regeneration, inter‑organ communication and adaptive physiology.
- Develop and deliver university‑level teaching, supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to examination activities.
- Prepare and submit grant applications, manage research funding, and oversee research fellows and staff.
- Collaborate with the Section for Cell and Neurobiology and contribute to departmental service tasks.
Required profile
- PhD in Biology or a related discipline with substantial post‑doctoral experience.
- Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed international journals.
- Proven ability to secure external research funding.
- Documented experience in high‑quality university teaching and formal pedagogical training.
Required skills
- Expertise in using Drosophila melanogaster as a model system.
- Experience with advanced bioimaging techniques.
