About the role

You will join the specialised psychiatric rehabilitation unit at the Psychiatric Center Ballerup, providing intensive treatment for patients with psychotic disorders. The position involves overseeing medical care for a six‑month inpatient programme followed by three months of day‑hospital treatment, within a multidisciplinary environment focused on recovery and functional improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the medical treatment and patient pathways for the rehabilitation unit.
• Collaborate with the department’s specialist psychologist on referrals, assessments and treatment planning.
• Provide psychotherapy to psychosis patients, both individually and in groups, with the option for further psychotherapeutic training.
• Adjust and monitor psychiatric medication in line with patient needs.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including nurses, therapists, social workers and other specialists.
• Contribute to the unit’s research activities and development projects.

Required profile

• Board‑certified specialist in psychiatry.
• Strong interest in psychotherapy with psychotic patients.
• Experience in intensive environment therapy, group therapy and medication management.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a large, multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care and recovery‑oriented goals.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of psychotic disorders.
• Proficiency in delivering individual and group psychotherapy.
• Knowledge of psychiatric pharmacology and medication adjustment.
• Effective communication within a multidisciplinary setting.
