Sr. Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

As a software engineer with a backend focus, you will work with your team to build infrastructure for the Databricks platform at scale. You will contribute to foundational platforms that support growth across multiple regions and cloud providers.

Key responsibilities

• Support Databricks' growth by building foundational infrastructure platforms that enable seamless operation across geographic regions and cloud providers.
• Implement cloud‑agnostic infrastructure abstractions to help engineers manage and operate services more efficiently.
• Develop tools and processes that improve engineering efficiency, including optimizing the Rust development experience across the organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience developing and operating large‑scale, critical distributed backend systems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear technical documentation.
