Research Assistant – Molecular Biologist for Cancer Diagnostics

About the role
The Department of Biology at the University of Copenhagen seeks a motivated Research Assistant to advance the development of circular DNA as a biomarker for cancer diagnostics. You will work on optimizing and validating a novel circular circulating tumor DNA (cctDNA) detection technology for clinical use.
Key responsibilities
- Optimize and validate the cctDNA detection method for robustness and reproducibility.
- Integrate the technology into clinical workflows and explore automation for routine use.
- Collaborate with bioinformaticians and experimental scientists to analyze thousands of plasma and tumor samples.
- Coordinate with the spin‑out company CARE‑DNA to align research outcomes with commercialization goals.
Required profile
- Hands‑on experience with genomics techniques, especially whole genome sequencing.
- Proficiency in DNA purification and library preparation.
- Strong collaborative attitude and ability to work in a fast‑changing, interdisciplinary environment.
- Interest in translational research and startup ventures.
