Job description
About the role
The Department of Food and Resource Economics (IFRO) at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a two‑year postdoctoral position. - Apply social‑science methods to analyse evolving human perceptions of mosquitoes as environmental disservices.
- Engage local stakeholders to identify barriers and co‑create solutions for mosquito nuisance within green‑transition initiatives.
- Produce evidence on how land‑use change drives shifts in mosquito abundance and public perception.
- Disseminate findings through academic publications, policy briefs and stakeholder workshops.
Required profile
- PhD in social sciences, environmental studies, geography or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research linking ecology, public health and policy.
- Experience with qualitative research, stakeholder engagement and case‑study design.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
Required skills
- Qualitative research methods (interviews, focus groups, participant observation).
- Data analysis software for social‑science research (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti).
- Academic writing and presentation skills.
What we offer
- Fixed‑term, two‑year contract starting December 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter).
- Competitive postdoctoral salary in line with Danish research standards.
- Access to interdisciplinary expertise, laboratory facilities and field sites.
- Opportunities for international collaboration and publication.
