Global Category Manager – Machining, Welding & Extrusion

About the role

Alfa Laval is seeking a Global Category Manager to lead strategic purchasing for machining, welding and extrusion. You will develop and implement sourcing strategies, drive purchasing projects and collaborate closely with R&D and internal stakeholders while staying abreast of international metal market trends.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies in close cooperation with stakeholders.
• Manage and drive purchasing projects across product groups.
• Identify opportunities, negotiate and maintain commercial agreements.
• Collaborate with R&D for material testing and audits.
• Monitor international metal market developments, new materials, processes and markets.

Required profile

• Several years of work experience with a strong commercial track‑record in purchasing or sales.
• Technical experience in machining and welding processes (strong merit).
• Extensive experience in international negotiations and supplier relationship management.
• Graduate degree in engineering, purchasing or a relevant business field.
• Proven ability to work closely with manufacturing sites, material experts, global purchasing offices and R&D.
