Cloud Platform Team Manager

About the role

OK is looking for a manager for its Cloud Platform team, which sits within IT Operations & Services and reports to the Senior Director of IT Operations & Services. You will lead four engineers, two architects and two external providers who deliver the platforms, tools and services on which OK's development teams build. The role balances stable operations with new platform capacity, and helps define clear interfaces between the team, operations, the service desk and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the team through hands-on management, regular coaching and clear direction
• Create a strong professional community where employees thrive and grow together
• Set direction for the team's work and turn priorities and agreements into action
• Balance stable operations with the need for new and improved platform capacity
• Ensure stability and quality across platforms, with robust solutions and fewer errors
• Support development teams with the platforms, tools and frameworks they need
• Define clear interfaces with Operations, the Service Desk, developers and the wider organisation
• Manage and quality-assure cooperation with external suppliers and follow up on agreements and deliveries
• Represent the team in dialogue with the rest of the organisation and contribute to informed decisions
• Own the team's budget and align resources, priorities and delivery

Required profile

• Experience in cloud, DevOps, IT operations, infrastructure or a similar technical area, with a track record of setting direction, leading people and driving change
• A good understanding of modern cloud platforms, infrastructure and automation
• Clear, present and decisive leadership style that gives room for strong expertise and team involvement
• Curious, constructive and able to turn complex technical issues into clear priorities
• Comfortable communicating with specialists, managers and business stakeholders
• Formal leadership experience is not required; a strong technical profile with natural leadership is also welcome
