Verification Engineer – Offshore Cranes & Structures

About the role

As a Verification Engineer you will join the Offshore Verification team in Esbjerg, contributing to independent verification activities for offshore assets in the Danish sector of the North Sea. You will help ensure compliance, integrity and operational safety throughout the asset lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent verification and conformity assessment activities for offshore assets.
• Review engineering, inspection, maintenance and operational documentation.
• Assess compliance with applicable legislation, standards and industry best‑practice.
• Evaluate the integrity and safety of offshore cranes and lifting systems.
• Prepare clear technical reports and recommendations for clients and regulators.
• Participate in on‑shore and off‑shore site visits, typically five one‑week trips per year.

Required profile

• Degree in structural or mechanical engineering with at least 3 years (structural) or 6 years (mechanical) experience in offshore crane operations, maintenance or inspection.
• Analytical, solution‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills in English.
• Systematic, detail‑oriented working style and ability to balance technical requirements with practical operational realities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of offshore crane maintenance practices and relevant standards/codes.
• Understanding of offshore operations and major hazard management principles.
• Experience with lifting equipment verification, mechanical integrity assessments and regulatory compliance.
