Software Manager – R&D Software for Life Science Instruments

About the role

We are looking for a Software Manager to lead the software organization behind high‑throughput, cell‑based research instruments. You will shape strategy, roadmap and execution across multiple products while collaborating closely with R&D, Product Management, Quality and Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end software lifecycle across products and projects, setting standards and ensuring seamless integration into complex instruments.
• Own the software strategy and release roadmap in partnership with Product Management, aligning scientific priorities and business goals.
• Provide people leadership for a team of frontend, backend and DevOps engineers and manage the associated budget.
• Define technical direction, architecture and quality standards while driving momentum and operational excellence.
• Implement and scale AI tools to improve efficiency, quality and team development.

Required profile

• Hands‑on software leadership with strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams in a fast‑moving, product‑focused environment.
• Ability to balance roadmap planning, architectural decisions and delivery commitments.
