Senior Naval Architect

About the role

Based at Maersk's headquarters in Copenhagen, the Senior Naval Architect will support a global fleet of over 300 container vessels and drive the company’s decarbonisation agenda through innovative vessel design.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously improve the design and performance of Maersk’s container vessel fleet.
• Lead and deliver engineering projects on time, within scope, and to high technical standards.
• Act as technical authority and subject‑matter expert for ship design, stability and compliance.
• Conduct technical evaluations and design reviews with shipyards, classification societies and equipment suppliers.
• Provide engineering recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Degree in Naval Architecture with at least 5 years of experience in ship design, maritime research or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with new‑building or major conversion projects, including development of technical specifications and plan approval.
• Collaborative, proactive mindset and ability to work in a global, cross‑functional environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
