Senior AI Engineer (Machine Learning)

About the role

At GetWhy, a fast‑growing AI‑driven consumer insights platform, we are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to lead end‑to‑end machine‑learning projects, from data annotation to model deployment, with a focus on NLP and large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Build AI‑powered features at scale using the latest advancements in LLMs.
• Research, prototype, and build advanced NLP/ML models to automate end‑user problem resolution.
• Design and conduct rigorous experiments and evaluations to improve model accuracy and reliability.
• Refine prompts and tune hyper‑parameters to maximize performance of retrieval and generative AI systems.
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product teams to define feature scope and implementation strategies.
• Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to technical reviews and share expertise in ML methodologies.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑structured code to meet delivery goals.

Required profile

• At least 5+ years developing machine learning systems, especially NLP models.
• Proficiency in Python with a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and production‑quality coding.
• Significant experience working with LLMs at scale, including prompt engineering and AI agents.
• Deep understanding of LLM evaluation, hallucinations, context management, conversational AI and voice technologies such as text‑to‑speech.
• Proven ability to formulate hypotheses, run experiments, and analyse results.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both spoken and written.
