Postdoctoral researcher – Green Transitions & Democratic Engagement

About the role

The MOOW project investigates democratic ownership and public participation in Denmark's green transition. Two full‑time, 24‑month postdoctoral positions are offered to conduct interdisciplinary research on climate policy, citizen engagement, and social justice.

Key responsibilities

• Design and carry out qualitative fieldwork with residents, landowners, and community groups.
• Develop and administer quantitative surveys to assess public attitudes toward green initiatives.
• Analyse data using social‑scientific methods and contribute to academic publications.
• Collaborate with early‑career and senior scholars, as well as public and private partners.
• Participate in limited teaching activities and outreach events.
• Experiment with new forms of democratic engagement and design participatory tools.

Required profile

• PhD in anthropology, sociology, environmental studies, design research or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in climate policy, sustainability transitions, and democratic theory.
• Proven ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
