About the role

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for PhD stipends in a wide range of mathematical fields. Successful candidates will join a vibrant research community and pursue a three‑year doctoral programme, either through the regular PhD track or the integrated MSc‑PhD route.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct original research in the assigned mathematical area.
• Publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Collaborate with faculty members and fellow PhD students.
• Participate in departmental seminars, workshops, and occasional teaching activities.

Required profile

• Hold a degree equivalent to a Danish master’s degree (or a bachelor’s degree for the integrated programme) in mathematics or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated research interest that aligns with one of the listed mathematical areas.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
