About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Maskinchef (Chief Engineer) to lead the technical department aboard a cruise ship operating the iconic Copenhagen‑Oslo route. You will be part of the ship’s senior management, working closely with the Captain and other department heads to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible vessel operation.

Key responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the technical operation and maintenance of the ship’s machinery and hotel systems.
• Lead and develop a team of engineers, assistants, and electricians.
• Plan and monitor preventive maintenance, dry‑dock periods, major repairs and technical projects.
• Manage technical budgets, spare parts procurement and compliance with classification and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with the Captain, on‑shore technical organization and external suppliers.
• Oversee audits, inspections and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in marine engineering.
• Practical, hands‑on approach combined with strategic thinking.
• Valid certification as a chief engineer.
