Freelance Long-Term Simplified Chinese to English Life Science Translator

About the role

We are looking for a freelance linguist to provide long‑term Simplified Chinese‑to‑English translation for life‑science documents, primarily CTD Clinical Module material. The role is fully remote and supports TransPerfect’s global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and proofread CTD Clinical Module and related life‑science texts from Simplified Chinese into English.
• Perform machine‑translation post‑editing (MTPE) where required.
• Maintain high linguistic quality, accuracy of terminology and adherence to client style guides.
• Deliver completed work within tight deadlines while preserving confidentiality.
• Collaborate with project managers and senior linguists for feedback and quality assurance.

Required profile

• Excellent written and spoken English and Simplified Chinese.
• Specialization in life‑science or related scientific fields.
• Strong attention to detail, spelling and grammar.
• Ability to work professionally under pressure, preferably located in an Asian time zone.
• Degree in Translation, Linguistics or related field, or equivalent professional experience as defined by TransPerfect.

Required skills

• Translation (Simplified Chinese to English).
• Machine‑translation post‑editing (MTPE).
• Familiarity with CTD Clinical Module terminology.
