Associate Design Director (Danish Speaking)

About the role

DEPT®, a Growth Invention company, is hiring an Associate Design Director for its Experience & Engineering team in Copenhagen, a hybrid position open to Danish speakers. The role operates at a studio-wide level: shaping the craft vision, raising design standards, guiding multidisciplinary teams and representing the agency externally.

Key responsibilities

• Own craft direction across complex projects and accounts, keeping work aligned and unmistakably DEPT®.
• Define standards, sharpen processes and enable teams to deliver consistently exceptional work.
• Guide clients and internal teams with clear, high-level creative and product direction beyond the brief.
• Drive innovation through experimentation, creating award-winning work.
• Evolve the craft vision, build team capabilities and foster mentorship and continuous learning.
• Support pitches and growth opportunities with strong creative points of view.
• Represent DEPT® externally through talks, posts and publications.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in visual/UI/UX design, including 3+ years at senior or leadership level.
• A portfolio showing strategic impact, systems thinking and high-quality execution across complex digital ecosystems.
• Strategic thinker who influences product, design and business decisions.
• Mentorship mindset and a recognised design voice.
• Working proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of visual principles, accessibility and modern interaction patterns.
• Mastery of Figma and design systems.
• Motion skills (Jitter, AE, etc.) are a plus.
