Assistant Professor – Vascular Inflammation & Proteomics

About the role

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen seeks a highly motivated Assistant Professor to lead a three‑year research programme on complement system ageing in the vascular wall, with a focus on proteomic changes in human and rodent arteries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an independent research profile investigating vascular inflammation and proteomics.
• Perform and analyse mass‑spectrometry data from arterial tissues (human and rodent).
• Integrate functional vascular physiology measurements with deep proteomic profiling.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to translational projects.
• Teach cardiovascular physiology courses and supervise graduate students.
• Publish findings in high‑impact scientific journals.

Required profile

• PhD in health sciences or a related field.
• Strong track record in mass‑spectrometry and proteomic research on arteries.
• Active interest in vascular physiology and inflammation.
• Extensive experience with in‑vivo and ex‑vivo rodent studies.
• Excellent English communication and teamwork skills.
• Several years of teaching experience in cardiovascular physiology.
