Senior Clinical Scientist

About the role

TFS HealthScience is seeking a Senior Clinical Scientist / Clinical Development Consultant to support a biotechnology company advancing a clinical development programme in Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). This is a flexible freelance consulting assignment initially running through the end of the year.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of clinical study synopses and full study protocols for upcoming MDD studies.
• Contribute to clinical development strategy and overall programme planning, defining objectives, endpoints, eligibility criteria and key design elements.
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Biometrics, Regulatory Affairs and senior stakeholders, providing scientific expertise to support development decisions.
• Interpret and analyse clinical study data together with statisticians and physicians, and support preparation of clinical study reports.
• Present scientific findings internally and externally and ensure studies meet scientific, regulatory and ethical requirements.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Medicine, Neuroscience, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or related discipline.
• Extensive hands‑on experience in clinical development within depression, including authoring study synopses and protocols.
• Strong understanding of study design and endpoint selection for MDD studies, with experience in Phase I, Phase Ib or Phase II programmes.
• Ability to work independently and contribute strategically in a small biotech environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
