Senior Software Engineer – Embedded Systems

About the role

Join JBT Marel’s Secondary Fresh Innovation team in Aarhus to design and develop industrial‑grade embedded software for advanced food‑processing equipment. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical and systems engineers across the full product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software primarily in modern C++ for Linux‑based platforms.
• Develop close‑to‑hardware code, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and deterministic behaviour.
• Own features from concept and architecture through deployment and long‑term maintenance.
• Contribute to system‑level architecture decisions and drive technical best practices.
• Act as a quality champion, enforcing coding standards, conducting reviews and improving processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with modern C++ in embedded and industrial software systems.
• Solid background in Linux‑based embedded platforms, cross‑compilation, build systems and deployment pipelines.
• Proven ability to work in Scrum teams and mentor junior developers.
• Excellent communication skills in English within an international environment.
