Principal AI Engineer

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our growing stellar AI team. You will be responsible for all stages in the machine learning lifecycle across projects, from designing data‑annotation steps to model training, validation and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Build AI‑powered features at scale using the latest advancements in large language models.
• Research, prototype and develop advanced NLP/ML models to automate end‑user problem resolution.
• Design and conduct rigorous experiments and evaluations to improve model accuracy and reliability.
• Refine prompts and tune hyper‑parameters to maximise performance of retrieval and generative AI systems.
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers and product teams to define feature scope and implementation strategies.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the AI group.
• Contribute to technical reviews and write clean, maintainable production code.

Required profile

• 5+ years developing machine‑learning systems, especially NLP models.
• Proficiency in Python and ability to write production‑quality code.
• Significant experience working with large language models at scale, including prompt engineering and AI agents.
• Deep understanding of LLM evaluation, hallucinations, context management and voice technologies such as text‑to‑speech.
• Proven track record of formulating hypotheses, running experiments and analysing results.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
